Terms of use

Short version: the site is free, your tour is yours, the event data is best effort, and accounts that abuse other members lose them.

The service

A catalogue of events and a tour planner. Free, and no account needed to browse or build. An account adds sharing a tour as a link, saving across devices, suggesting events, and the members features.

Your content

What you type stays yours: a tour name, a suggestion, your profile. The site uses it only to run the features you point it at: a shared tour is shown to whoever holds the link, a suggestion lands in the review queue. Nothing is sold or passed on; Privacy has the full picture.

Conduct

Don't impersonate people, don't harass members, don't spam the suggestion queue. Your socials are about you: each one must be your own account or your own website. So is what you do: a line about your work, not an advert, and only switch on Show me as an organiser for an organiser you really work with. A partner's profile (its logo, its description and its socials) is the partner's own, and theirs to keep accurate: it must be their own brand and their own accounts. Every member can block and report, and reports are read by a human. An account that keeps abusing others can be muted, taken off the Travel map, or banned from signing in.

Use the catalogue through this site, for your own travel. Don't copy it in bulk, scrape it, or republish it. The event listing is compiled by hand, and the database right in it is reserved. Sharing a tour link, exporting your own tour to a calendar, and quoting an event with a link back are all fine.

The event data

Only events with confirmed dates are listed, checked against each organiser's own site where possible, but they can still be wrong, or change late. Confirm with the organiser before booking travel. The site takes no bookings and no payments, and is offered as is.

An event a partner posts on its own desk goes live at once, without our check, and is the partner's word. The section on partners below says more.

Partners and organisers

Who this is for: an organiser the Kimchi Tours desk has made a partner, and the people who act for it. A partner gets what the Business window in the footer lists: its tag on its events, a desk of its own to add and change them, and a team members can find. The rest of these terms apply to partners as to everyone.

What a partner publishes: its events, its logo, its line about itself and its socials stay its own. By posting them the partner confirms that they are its to post, that its logo and names are its own or used with permission, and that they are accurate as far as it knows. It lets Kimchi Tours show, store and copy them as the site needs: in the catalogue, in the offline copy of the catalogue and the site's code history, in the structured data search engines read, in backups, and in the site's own newsletter and posts, with the partner's name and handle. A logo is kept as an image in the site's own storage, which anyone can open.

Keeping it true: an event goes live the moment it is saved, and nothing waits for approval. People book flights and beds from what a partner posts, so the partner keeps its events up to date and takes down one that is cancelled. Kimchi Tours can correct or remove anything that is wrong, misleading, unlawful or not the partner's to post.

Removing something: a partner changes or deletes its own events, and changes its profile, on its desk at any time. For anything it cannot reach, write to partner@kimchi.tours or hello@kimchi.tours. Anyone else who thinks an event, a logo or a profile line is wrong, or is theirs, can write to hello@kimchi.tours or, signed in, send a report from the footer. A removed event can stay in the offline copy of the catalogue and in the search data in the page until we next refresh them, and in the site's code history for good, because that is not rewritten. Search engines keep copies of their own, and backups keep it too; Privacy says how.

The desk and its team: desk access belongs to a person's own account. The people with it look after the team: they invite friends to it (a friend joins when they accept), change a member's access and remove members, and the partner answers for what is done through its desk. Kimchi Tours keeps a log of the changes made through a desk, with the time and the id of the account that made them, and only Kimchi Tours reads it; Privacy says what is in it.

Ending it: Kimchi Tours can end a partner's desk access, take its tag off, or suspend an account that breaks these terms, at any time. Ending desk access does not by itself take anything down: the partner's events and profile stay in the catalogue until Kimchi Tours changes or removes them, which the partner can ask for at any time.

The golden feature: a partner with desk access can put one of its events on the gold band at the top of the catalogue, labelled Featured. It is one event at a time; it shows from 30 days before the event starts and comes off by itself after its first day. Kimchi Tours features its own events there too, and can take any feature off.

Sponsored stamps: a Kimchi Stamp pressed at an event can carry a sponsor's mark. The mark is printed on every such stamp, so nobody holds one without knowing who is behind it, and a stamp already pressed keeps the mark it was pressed with. The sponsor gets a count of the stamps pressed, never a name.

Fees: the site takes no payment for the desk, the tag, the golden feature or a sponsored stamp. Any fee is agreed in writing before it applies, and invoiced apart from the site.

What we promise: what is written in this section, and nothing beyond it. We do not promise how many people will see, save or travel to an event, that the desk will always be available, or that a feature or a stamp will lead to anything. The desk is offered as is, and it can change.

Your account

An account is for people aged 18 or over. Delete it whenever you like. Profile, tours and friendships go with it. Privacy says exactly what is stored while it exists, and what stays after you delete it.
